I am currently finishing my dissertation on Asian diasporic visual cultures at the University of Southern California. Before that, I spend most of my life in Germany, with longer stays in France and China, where I studied film, too. Being Chinese German -- a notion that does not really "exist" in the German environment yet -- I am interested in sites of belonging that have no place in national imaginaries and other dominant identity fictions. I am also programming for several Asian transnational film festivals. And I like to make friends.
