I am a PhD Candidate in the Program in Visual Studies at University of California, Irvine and teach film aesthetics, film and broadcast history, digital media and video game culture, and visual culture. I'm interested in the intersections among histories of domestic and domesticated technologies, surveillance and gaming cultures, and nationalism. My dissertation explores the historical emergence of detection and police science as a popular and entertaining pastime in the early American twentieth century.
