I am a PhD candidate in the English department at UC, Riverside. I specialize in 20th-21st Century American Literature, digital hypermedia and culture, and contemporary visual art and performance. My dissertation looks at hypermaterial language art across literary, visual, and digital platforms, hypothesizing that this kind of art, with its play of linguistic virtuality and materiality, helps safeguard against an over-virtualization of people through posthuman, postracial, and postfeminist discourses. Its working title is "Seeing Text And Hearing Image: Exploring The Cyborg Feminist and Disidentificatory Potentials Of Hypermaterial Language ARt."
